Battling cancer is always challenging. When you're a child and battling cancer...
Stella is a beautiful, energetic young girl with a great smile and winning her fight against cancer.
I'll start this blog with the results of a charity and a few businesses getting together to create a memorable experience for Stella, including renting a theater.
The gentleman on the front right is Manuel Diotte (Manny). Because of medical issues, he had a rough childhood. How rough? His parents were told he wouldn't make it through the weekend three or four different times while he was growing up.
In 1987, Manny went to Beverly Hills, California, to see Michael Jackson’s plastic surgeon, Dr. Timothy Miller, paid for by the Air Force, thankfully, due to his father’s 23 years of service. When he arrived at the Los Angeles International Airport, he saw a Ferrari 328; Manny asked the owner if he could take a picture next to the car, and that picture forever changed him. "I felt like a rock star…a real celebrity!" The owner let him sit in it, and over 20 years later, Manny still has never forgotten that experience
Years later, Manny started TheFerrariKid.org - Giving sick kids the ride of a lifetime!
Manny covered the expenses to rent a theater and, in doing so, gave Stella a fantastic venue to view Tribal Equine Productions’ video about Stella and her story.
The beautiful lady on the front left is Shanna Schulze, owner of Tribal Equine Productions https://tribalequine.com - Her mission is to celebrate and share the extraordinary connection between humans and horses.
Now on to Stella, the star and kid extraordinaire, in the front and center with her parents, family, and friends standing behind her.
Stella was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2021. Not only is she conquering this diagnosis, but she focuses each day on living her best life. This courageous girl has chosen Disney’s “Brave” character, Merida, for her Tribal Equine Production. She is inspired by Merida’s strength and independence and wants to show the world that she’s a young warrior princess too.
The Ferrari Kid did crowd-sourcing to help make Stella’s wishes to become Merida from Disney’s “Brave” a reality.
To make the magic happen, Tribal Equine has the best production team providing Stella with a complete “Brave” production package by designing the shoot and set. Shanna also brought in Texas Expressions – https://www.texasexpressions.com/ to help supply pops, costumes, accessories, and Tammie Barker - https://www.airbrushedbytammie.com for hair, and makeup. The horse, of course, is one of the Tribal Equine horses.
Joe David Garza of Kalamazoo Films - https://www.kalamazoofilms.com created videography for Stella, and it looked great on the big screen. Brand Manager Emily Covey was also on the set and helping with post productions, Jocelyn Michele was there as well, helping to make sure the lighting for the photos was perfect. As for the photography, I’ve partnered with Tribal Equine productions to help make sure these images provide the look and feel we thought Stella would love.
So how did we do? Judging by Stella's smiles and hugs at the theater... I think we hit the bullseye.
